Panama Port Company. The project is located at the existing container port terminal at Port of Cristóbal in the City of Colón, Colón Province, Republic of Panama and consists of improvements to the mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall and adjacent road on the north side of “La Mole”.

The project consisted of the demolition, excavation, removal and disposal of existing seawall, structures, and unsuitable materials, as well as the installation of riprap and the reconstruction of the MSE wall. The MSE wall reconstruction process included the installation of granular fill, geotextiles, geogrid, as well as the installation of Geobags. It also included the construction of catchpits and culvert extensions, the placement of shotcrete, installation and compaction of granular subbase, granular base, and asphalt, the construction of a sidewalk and curb and gutter, and the installation of a perimeter fence, among others.

The works were carried out without interfering with the operations of the terminal and adjacent areas.
