VOPAK PANAMA ATLANTIC, INC

The project was developed under EPC modality and consisted of the design, supply, and construction of marine facilities for a tank farm located at Bahia Las Minas. The marine terminal is designed to operate with 80,000 DWT and 10,000 DWT vessels, and consists of the following elements:

  • Berthing and mooring structures, required to receive product vessels (Monopile diameters between 2.0 m and 2.5 m with weights of up to 102 tons)
  • A Loading platform, required for the support of loading equipment including power packs, gangway systems, and piping.
  • A 175m approach trestle, required for the support of product and utility lines between ship and shore and access for pedestrians and man pulled trolleys to the loading platform.
  • Supply and installation of marine equipment (quick release hooks, fenders, bollards and navigation lights).
  • Supply and installation of the cathodic protection system.

In total, over 2,000 tons of steel structural elements were designed, supplied, and installed for this project. The works also involved the fabrication of precast concrete structures and offshore cast-in-place concrete placement works for the Transfer and Loading Platforms. The works were carried out in accordance with the contractual and regional seismic criteria.
