MPSA – Beach Landing Stage II

Minera Panama S.A. The project consisted in the marine transport of high tonnage and oversized cargo, using a diverse set of floating marine equpiment, such as barges of 2,000 ton capacity, tug boats, and RORO type shipments, over a period in excess of three years. The cargo was delivered from different ports located in the area of Colón, Panama, up to the marine facilities in the construction area of Minera Panama in Punta Rincon (a distance of approximately 60 nautica lmiles).

Construction of a pump station for a thermoelectric plant cooling system. Project under EPC modality which consists of the construction of a pump station on land, after which it will be transported, launched to sea and sunk at its final position. The structure carries a weight in excess of 5,000 tons. The project includes the construction of a launch ramp and various underwater fill and protection works.

Minera Panamá S.A., the project consisted of the construction of the first marine mining terminal in Central America to be used for the unloading and loading of coal and copper concentrate, respectively. The project is located in the Atlantic Ocean, 60 nautical miles west of the city of Colón, Panama. The work was divided into distinct work fronts, developed simultaneously:

Minera Panamá S.A., the project consisted in the development of marine works under an EPC modality in a remote location for the Mina de Cobre Panama project, located in the district of Donoso, Republic of Panama.

The project entailed the design and construction of provisional marine structures for the loading and unloading of shipments of construction equipment and materials for the various areas of the construction of the mine.

Manzanillo International Terminal, IMI constructed 20,000 m2 of marine infrastructure, with a berth 395 m in length and 42.75 m wide, founded on precast/prestressed piles (381 units with lengths of up to 50 m and weights of up to 50 tons) and steel piles (148 units with 48” diameters, with lengths of up to 47 m and weights of approximately 35 tons each). One third of the pile positions were drilled in the existing seabed (Gatún) before later driving the piles. All equipment used (barges, tugboats, and cranes) are part of IMI’s fleet of equipment.

Manzanillo International Terminal, the project consisted of the construction of the first Automatic Stacking Crane system in Latin America. IMI constructed one kilometer of rails for the port container crane positioning system, fabricated and drove 450 prefabricated concrete piles, and installed the entire electromechanical system which accompanies the system’s superstructure (rails, electrical ducts, drainage systems, among others).

Melones Oil Terminal Inc. The project consisted of the development of marine works under EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) modality, and is located in The Pacific Ocean, Melones Island, Panama City, Republic of Panama.

The works consisted of the construction of a bunker fuel transfer pier suitable for receiving tanker vessels of up to 70,000 DWT (Panamax) and barges simultaneously.
